It is almost time to crown the ultimate SuperSport MVP. The curtains will come down on the SuperSport MVP Talent Search Show in the grand finale this Sunday.

Our finalists are waiting with bated breath to find out if months of stress and work were enough to be declared the first MVP.

The SuperSport MVP Talent Search drew more than 2,500 entries through online video submissions. The live auditions held in five provinces at various university campuses brought in many excited and determined individuals who dared to dream of joining the elite ranks of SuperSport talent.

A boardroom full of SuperSport and agency judges had to filter through the thousands of entries to get to the top 100 hopefuls. However, their job was not done; field experts such as Neil Andrews and Owen Nkumane were also part of the process finding the top 30 contestants who would later battle it out to get into the final 20.

It took the panel a couple of days to turn 100 into 30 but these were the cream of the crop. The potential MVPs didn’t know what lay ahead of them when they gathered for the SuperSport Draft Camp. A live audition with Andrews, Motshidisi Mohono, Arthur Khoza and Nono Cele at the OB City saw plenty of nervous contenders and some weren't quite clued up on their sports. That was disappointing and those performances saw 10 candidates saying goodbye to their dream of joining the World of Champions the very same day they arrived at camp.

After weeks of challenges and tasks at the SuperSport MVP Talent Search camp, 20 hopefuls were cut down to 15 and now, only the final 10 remain.

SHOCKS AND TWISTS

The show has kept us on the edge of our seats for two months as we experienced some shocks, twists and laughter as the MVPs warmed their way into our hearts in pursuit of their sports broadcast dreams.

Some of those memorable moments include the sheer excitement when Moleboheng Tsoane met her idol, Baba Mthethwa in episode six, as well as Delucia Daniels’ fan moment while interviewing the Bulls' David Kriel. Anelisa Jaxa made a special comeback in the show.

Having missed out on being part of the top 10 in two episodes, he became the only contestant to win the prize money for two weeks in a row. The judges provided insightful feedback for the contestants that they can use throughout their careers.

The excitement is mounting and we can’t wait to find out who will be crowned the Ultimate MVP. Don’t miss the finale!

SuperSport’s Hope Mbhele and Tshego Koke host the SuperSport MVP Talent Search Show that aims to find South Africa’s next generation of sports broadcasters.

Catch the show every Sunday on SuperSport Variety 4 and Mzansi Magic at 9pm.
