JDR Stars look to apply pressure on Magesi and AmaTuks
As a team quietly going about their business in the Motsepe Foundation Championship in recent weeks, JDR Stars could make it five wins on the spin when they take on Venda Football Academy on Saturday afternoon.
Following JDR Stars 2-1 win against Black Leopards last time out, the Pretoria outfit moved into third position on the log after Orbit College suffered a 3-0 loss against Pretoria Callies in their most recent league outing.
As it stands, JDR Stars now trail second-placed University of Pretoria by seven points after 24 matches played.
Then, as the feature bout of the weekend, the University of Pretoria will go toe-to-toe with Magesi at the Tuks Stadium on Saturday.
Sitting at the top of the pile, Magesi will look to get back to winning ways this weekend following their 2-2 stalemate with Hungry Lions earlier this week.
As it stands, Magesi are two points ahead of AmaTuks on the table as the battle for first place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship continues this weekend.
Elsewhere, 16th placed Marumo Gallants will travel to the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Friday where they will take on a Maritzburg United outfit who are on a run of three consecutive victories in the league.
