David & Goliath clashes await the Motsepe Foundation Championship
As another exciting instalment of the Motsepe Foundation Championship rolls on, much of this week’s fixtures will focus on teams fighting at the top and bottom end of the league table.
Log leaders Orbit College head into their latest fixture on the back of a 1-0 away win against Pretoria Callies at the TUT Stadium, a victory that strengthened their grip at the top of the table.
Orbit, who are now on a run of back-to-back victories, will take on bottom of the log Venda Football Academy at the Soshanguve Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Venda recorded four league defeats in succession and managed to accumulate just five points from eight games played so far.
Elsewhere, Hungry Lions will take on Pretoria Callies at the Windhoek Draught Park on Sunday in yet another key fixture in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this week.
While Hungry Lions are unbeaten in their last four games, which included three consecutive wins against Platinum City Rovers, Orbit College and La Masia, Pretoria Callies are yet to win a league game this season.
Also, Maritzburg United will host JDR Stars at the Sugar Ray Zulu Stadium on Friday afternoon, with both sides looking to maintain their positive form in game week eight. The Team of Choice currently occupy second place on the table with 15 points, while JDR Stars sit in fifth spot with 13 points to their name.
