WEEK 6: Did URC That?
Welcome to this week’s edition of Did URC That? – our weekly chance to have a look at five of the more interesting video clips from over the past weekend and have as much fun with it as we can.
In the spirit of Halloween, we’ve kept our selection as scary as possible. Let’s see if you catch a fright somewhere.
1. FREQUENT FLYER
What you are about to see is the very definition of chasing a lost cause. No-one is safe with Henco van Wyk on the prowl.
It reminds us of when you have two guys still peckish and eyeing that last braaibroodjie left on the coals.
2. MONSTROSITY
There is nothing quite as disheartening and tiring than being mauled back a good couple of metres. For this reason, we’d like to propose a new rule: every maul of more than 20 metres must be featured among our videos of the week.
If the Glasgow pack went backwards any faster, they would have ended up in yesterday.
3. DAVID AND THE GIANT KICK
The Bulls looked dead and buried for 78 minutes of Friday night’s match. In fact, they never lead in the game right until David Kriel had this chance from the touchline.
His was the sort of calmness usually only possessed by inhabitants of a Zen retreat.
4. LIKE THERE’S NO TOMORROW
We’re used to seeing these guys celebrate like this when they win World Cups, but it was good to see them value a run-of-the-mill home URC game just as highly. It clearly meant a lot.
It is clear that the Sharks players themselves saw the big win against Munster as a turning point in their season.
5. PUTTING THE “SPRING” IN “SPRINGKAAN”
Know this: no matter how scary your Halloween is going to be, you’ll never be as scared as Bulls prop Mornay Smith.
Thanks you to Elrich Louw for sharing this beaut on his socials.
