Shul Shire beat Adama, Hawassa top Sidama Coffee
Ethiopia Premier League new Boys, Shul Shire upset Adama City when they beat them 3-2, and Hawassa City topped City rivals, Sidama Coffee 1-0.
Adama came out of the blocks really strong and they were 1-0 up in the 12th minute through Nebil Nuri.
Alex Kitata equalized for Shul Shire in the 27th minute to restore parity to 1-1, a scoreline they both took to halftime.
The second half was a good run for Shul Shire, and they were soon up to 2-1 when Alazar Admasu scored in the 57th minute.
They pressed on with more pressure on Adama, and scored one more on 86 minutes from the penalty spot with Elias Ahmed converting to take the scores to 3-1.
However, Adama City pulled one back two minutes later, Biniam Ayoten the scorer from a penalty, 3-2 it finished.
Elsewhere, a 42nd goal by Tebarek Hefemo was the difference between Hawassa and Sidama Coffee in their early derby.
It was bragging rights and three points for the Lakers, as they begin their season with a win.
