Spurs, Venda & Highbury suffer back-to-back defeats
Cape Town Spurs, Venda Football Academy and Highbury were at the end of unfortunate results during the latest round of Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures, while Milford remained at the top of the league standings after six matches played.
The Urban Warriors, who have won just two matches since their return to South Africa’s first division, suffered a 2-0 loss against Leruma United at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

After back-to-back defeats in the league, Spurs dropped down to 9th on the log, while Leruma ended the latest gameweek in 12th position.
Then, Venda Football Academy were unable to recover from their 3-1 defeat against Hungry Lions last week after recording a 1-0 loss to Upington City at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Venda are yet to taste victory in the 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign and currently occupy the last position on the table.
Much like that of Venda Football Academy, Highbury remain in search of their first victory in the league after jotting down a 2-1 defeat against log leaders Milford this weekend.
With four losses and two draws to their name after six games, Highbury completed their latest league assignment in 15th position.
