Stylish Leicester open up lead in Championship
Leicester City turned on the style to beat Birmingham City 3-2 in the Championship at St Andrew's on Monday thanks to two goals from Stephy Mavididi.
The Foxes, bidding to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, opened up a three-point lead over second-placed Ipswich.
Mavididi scored first for Leicester in the 10th minute just seconds after teammate James Justin had hit his own post, but Wales international Jordan James pulled the visitors level four minutes later.
Leicester went ahead again when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was on the end of a rapid counter-attack to score his seventh goal of the season.
Mavididi sealed the three points for the Foxes with a deflected third goal minutes into the second half.
James tried to drag City back into the game with his second goal of the game but Leicester rode out the night comfortably.
