Lowly Cadiz sack coach Sergio after 17-match winless streak
Cadiz sacked coach Sergio Gonzalez on Saturday after a run of 17 matches without victory in LaLiga.
The Andalusians, 18th, lost 1-0 at Alaves on Friday night which proved the final straw, with the team provisionally one point from safety.
"The club are looking for a replacement and wish Sergio Gonzalez luck in his professional career," said Cadiz in a statement.
Sergio, appointed in January 2022, helped keep Cadiz in LaLiga for the last two seasons but managed only two wins from 21 matches this season in the top flight.
