South Africa, Zambia secure 2025 Afcon qualification
The likes of South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe all booked their spots in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament this week following a jam-packed list of fixtures across the continent.
In Group G, Zambia stunned reigning champions Ivory Coast with a 1-0 win at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Friday evening.
The Copper Bullets were in a competitive mode throughout the 90 minutes and made their intentions known from the get go.
Kennedy Musonda’s 43rd minute strike saw Zambia end matchday five at the top of Group G.

Elsewhere, South Africa moved to the top of Group K this week following a 2-0 win against Uganda at the Mandela National Stadium on Friday.
Second-half efforts by Thapelo Morena and Patrick Maswanganyi saw Bafana Bafana accumulate 11 points after five matches played so far.

South Africa will next face South Sudan at the DHL Stadium on 19 November.
Also, Zimbabwe made sure to book their ticket to the Moroccan showpiece after jotting down a 1-1 draw with Kenya at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The result saw Zimbabwe finish second in Group J after opening up a four-point lead over Kenya, who recorded back-to-back defeats in their last set of qualifiers.
