Cape Town City sign striker Dženan Zajmović

Cape Town City have completed the signing of Bosnian-Belgian striker Dženan Zajmović as they push for promotion back to the Betway Premiership in the second half of the season.
The 31-year-old is no stranger to South African football having had a successful spell with topflight TS Galaxy in the 2024/25 campaign, where he scored 12 goals in 26 starts and was widely praised for his performances.

But he could not agree terms on an extension and a move to Iranian side Zob Ahan followed in August 2025, which proved less successful.
He is now back in South African football and given his obvious ability to score goals in the Premier Soccer League, his signing is something of a coup for City.
They have battled up front for several seasons, one of the major factor in their relegation at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, but Zajmović could provide the tonic in a team that is otherwise well stocked.
City made a slow start to the Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign, but having taken 13 points from the last 15 available, they go into the second half of the season well poised for a promotion push.
They are in four place, five points behind leaders Milford FC, and three points outside of the promotion play-off places.
Their next fixture is away to Gomora United on January 23.
