The Emirates Lions have received a double setback with the news that Andre Warner has suffered a broken cheekbone and they will also be without young flyhalf Jordan Hendrikse this weekend for their final Rainbow Cup game against the DHL Stormers.

Warner suffered a broken cheekbone in their loss against the Cell C Sharks and while no official time was given that he will be on the sidelines, the normal diagnosis for such an injury is four to six weeks.

Hendrikse has travelled to Stellenbosch to meet up with the SA under-20 squad ahead of their international series but would not be able to play this weekend in any case as he is currently injured after taking a knock against his knee in the Sharks game.

The medical diagnosis is that he should be fit to play for the SA under-20s when the series begins.

In his absence, it seems that Wits flyhalf Aidynn Cupido may be drafted in to fill the gap while he is away.

The Lions have also got two other injury concerns with both Vincent Tshituka and Reinhardt Nothnagel suffering concussion in the last match and will follow the return to play protocols before being considered for selection.
