Rain halts play in Durban

Seasonal rain arrived just four overs into the SA20 match between Durban Super Giants and Mumbai Indians Cape Town with the home side well placed on 37-0 at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead on Sunday afternoon.

MI Cape Town captain, Rashid Khan, won the toss and chose to bowl first but only to see Black Caps opener, Devon Conway, hit New Zealand countryman Trent Boult for two sixes in the opening over.

Left hander Conway was 24* from just 13 balls with the third New Zealander of the trio, Kane Williamson, unbeaten on 12 from 11 balls.

The fixture is a repeat of the Friday’s opening game at Newlands just 48 hours earlier in which DSG prevailed by 15-runs in a high-scoring encounter featuring 249-runs.

The home side named an unchanged XI while MICT have given a debut to Afghan seamer Karin Janat ahead of young South African paceman Tristan Luus.
