CURRENT FORM

The Rockets are undefeated in their last two matches in the league having drawn 0-0 with Polokwane City away on 29 November after emerging as 2-1 winners over TS Galaxy at home on 23 November.

Galaxy find themselves in eighth place in the Betway Premiership standings and a victory by a two-goal margin over Chiefs would see the Mpumalanga outfit end the year in the fifth spot.

Chiefs, on the other hand, are winless in their last three matches across all competitions following their 0-0 draw with Chippa United on 3 December, but they are unbeaten in their last six Betway Premiership games.

Amakhosi are placed fifth in the league standings and a win over Galaxy would evelate the Soweto giants to the top three, but a victory seven-goal margin or more would see them finish the year in second place.

TEAM NEWS

Galaxy have no suspension issues in their camp and the 2019 Nedbank Cup champions are yet to report injuries coming into this encounter.

Chiefs, on the other hand, have added Sibongiseni Mthethwa to their injury list which includes Gaston Sirino, Glody Makabi Lilepo and Rushwin Dortley, but there are no suspension worries in the Amakhosi camp.

WHAT WAS SAID?

TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic

"We have the last game to play against Kaizer Chiefs, it is again like a final," Beganovic said.

"We want to go home with something; we collect three points, and then we have 23 points, adding to our tally. And it will be much easier if we have 23 points, but I know it can be much difficult and tougher in the second round for all teams."

Kaizer Chiefs winger Asanele Velebayi

“I’m a bit disappointed with the result [against Chippa United]. We should have come out with the maximum points," Velebayi said.

"But I’m proud of the effort, everyone who played and the players on the bench pushing the players on the field. For me, we should’ve gotten the maximum result. But we will be looking to give our all in the next game [TS Galaxy].”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Puso Dithejane, TS Galaxy: The Chiefs academy product will be looking to haunt his former side having been one of the most outstanding players in the league so far this season - scoring four times and providing four assists in 12 matches.

Flavio Da Silva, Kaizer Chiefs: The former Portugal youth international will carry Amakhosi's hopes of securing a victory in Mbombela as he is the team's top scorer, having found the back of the net four times in six league appearances.
