Midlands Wanderers inflict major upset on Milford

In what was one of the standout results in this weekend’s list of Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures, Midlands Wanderers recorded a vital win over the high-flying Milford FC on Saturday, while Cape Town City made it three wins on the spin.
Midlands Wanderers were one of the biggest winners during the latest round of action in the Motsepe Foundation Championship following their 2-0 win against the promotion chasing Milford on Saturday.

Prior to their win against Milford, Midlands Wanderers bagged just two wins throughout the entire season and put an end to their five-match winless streak in the league. The last time Midlands Wanderers tasted victory was on 26 October, which came via a 1-0 result against Venda Football Academy.
Elsewhere, Cape Town City continued their forward momentum this weekend after jotting down a 1-0 victory against Highbury on Saturday.
The Citizens have now secured three wins in succession, which includes four wins and one draw in their previous five Motsepe Foundation Championship games and will end the latest game week in fourth position.
Then, Casric Stars returned to the winning column in their 14th outing this season with a convincing 4-0 victory against Leicesterford City on Saturday.
On the back of consecutive losses to Kruger Untied and The Bees respectively, Casric have now accumulated 25 points in second position.
