A brace of tries by speedster Shilton van Wyk - which takes him to six for the tournament - was enough to tip the scales in the Blitzboks' favour as he scored straight out of the blocks in the first minute and followed up with his second before halftime.
In between, Tristan Leyds also added his name to the scoresheet while Jordan Sepho and Josselin Bouhier scored before halftime for France to leave the game evenly poised at 17-12 in the home side’s favour.
Bouhier scored just after the break to even things up, but it was Ryan Oosthuizen who scored at the end to give the Blitzboks' fans the victory they had been shouting for.
The final kicks off at 16.43 and is live on SuperSport.
