Maritzburg United have added another player to their squad with a week left of the January transfer window as Miguel Timm has moved across to the struggling club from Chippa United on a free transfer.

Timm joined Chippa in October after returning from a spell in the United States with Phoenix Rising but was one of eight players let go in a clean out at the start of the month at the Eastern Cape club.

Maritzburg moved gthis week to snap him up and he joins Thabiso Kutumela, Mpho Matsi and Judas Moseamedi as new arrivals at the club, who are hoping for a revival but have lost all four matches under new coach Muhsin Ertugral since his post-Christmas arrival.

Maritzburg are next up against Witbank Spurs on Sunday in the first round of the Nedbank Cup where Timm might be given a cameo role.

Last year, Maritzburg finished runners-up in the Nedbank Cup, losing in the final to Free State Stars.
