Judas Moseamedi scored a stoppage-time equaliser for Maritzburg United in a 2-2 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Friday evening.

Goals from Sera Motebang and Siphelele Luthuli set Siwelele on course for all three points, but Maritzburg rallied late to earn a point and extend their unbeaten run at home to 17 games.

Daylon Claasen halved the deficit before Moseamedi's strike in the third minute of added time. A point apiece moves the two clubs up to seventh and eighth on the log standings respectively.

The best chance of the first half fell to Thabiso Kutumela in the ninth minute with his shot bringing the best out of the woodwork.

Goals would finally follow after the break with Phunya Sele finding the opener through Sera Motebang in the 50th minute.

Menzi Masuku set up the opening goal and also teed up the second in the 82nd minute, this time for Luthuli who tapped home after a swift counter-attack from the visitors.

The hosts were handed a lifeline five minutes later after Claasen was brought down inside the area and the midfielder dusted himself off before firing home from the spot past Sipho Chaine, who had replaced Jackson Mabokgwane in goal after the latter sustained a head injury minutes prior.

Moseamedi completed the comeback with 93 minutes on the clock as the Team of Choice continue their climb up the log standings.
