The 2019/20 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season was suspended just when Khama Billiat was looking to get back to his best.

The Zimbabwe international has struggled with injuries and fatigue which has seen Kaizer Chiefs feel the talismanic forward's absence at times this season.

Billiat is the only active player in the top 10 list of leading goalscorers since the inception of the PSL in 1996.

As things stand, the former Ajax Cape Town winger still has a chance to reach the very top with the others in the top 10 having either retired or left the Absa Premiership.

Check out where Billiat ranks in terms of the PSL's all-time greatest goalscorers list:

Gilbert Mushangazhike & Patrick Mayo - 80 Goals

The two retired strikers are both 80 goals with former Zimbabwe international Mushangazhike having turned out for Manning Rangers, Orlando Pirates and Mpumalanga Black Aces in the PSL.

While Mayo, who could also play as a defender and midfielder, had successful spells with Umtata Bush Bucks, SuperSport United, Kaizer Chiefs, Thanda Royal Zulu and Bay United.

Surprise Moriri & Khama Billiat - 83 Goals

The duo were teammates at Mamelodi Sundowns with Moriri having retired in 2017 following a spell with Highlands Park and he was once on the books of Silver Stars (Platinum Stars).

Billiat is currently sitting joint ninth on the list and he started his PSL career at Ajax Cape Town, before moving to Sundowns in 2013 and Chiefs signed him as a free agent almost two years ago.

“Obviously I’ll never be happy with my performance. I always want to do better," Billiat said.

"I always want to contribute as much as I can, but I’m happier when the team is doing well. When everyone is scoring goals from different angles, it gives us more depth."

Katlego Mashego - 88 Goals

The retired striker was a journeyman as he turned out for Hellenic, Silver Stars, SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates, Moroka Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns, Golden Arrows and Chippa United.

Wilfred Mugeyi - 91 Goals

The former Zimbabwean international was a prolific striker, who played for Umtata Bush Bucks, Ajax Cape Town and Free State Stars, before he retired in 2007.

Collins Mbesuma -103 Goals

The Zambian marksman is another journeyman on the list having played for Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Moroka Swallows, Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Highlands Park.

Mbesuma is currently on the books of GladAfrica Championship side Univesity of Pretoria and he remains a reliable goalscorer.

Manuel Bucuane - 104 Goals

The retired Mozambican hitman was lethal in front of goal during his days with Jomo Cosmos and he also played for Maritzburg United, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United.

Mabhuti Khenyeza & Daniel Mudau 110 Goals

The two legendary strikers are both retired with Mudau being the only one-club man on the list having scored 110 goals for Mamelodi Sundowns and he is also the club's all-time top goalscorer.

While Khenyeza was a well-travelled player having turned out for Golden Arrows, Kaizer Chiefs, Ajax Cape Town, Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United, Mpumalanga Black Aces and AmaZulu FC.

Siyabonga Nomvethe - 123 Goals

The Bafana Bafana legend is the greatest PSL striker of all-time and he had spells with African Wanderers, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Moroka Swallows and AmaZulu FC.

Nomvethe is still active in the GladAfrica Championship where is on the books of Uthongathi FC and Billiat, 29, still has a long way to go before he becomes the PSL's all-time leading goalscorer.
