Bafana Bafana international Kgaogelo Sekgota is set to leave Bidvest Wits for Vitoria Setubal.

The talented winger was snapped up by Wits from Portuguese club Setubal on a short-term loan deal during the January 2020 Transfer Window.

Sekgota, 23, enjoyed regular game time under coach Gavin Hunt and he helped the Clever Boys reach this season's Nedbank Cup semifinals.

However, the campaign was then suspended in mid-March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic which has impacted the staging of sporting events worldwide.

The season is expected to resume soon in a Biologically Safe Environment (BSE) in Gauteng and Wits have managed to retain Sekgota's services until the end of the campaign, according to his agent, Bally Smart.

"Sekgota will go back to Portugal when the season ends here in South Africa," Smart told SuperSport.com.

"He still has two years left on his contract with Vitoria Setubal, so when his loan ends, he will re-join Setubal for pre-season."

Sekgota, who was part of the Bafana Bafana squad at the 2019 COSAFA Cup in Durban, struggled for game time at Setubal having made only one appearance in the Primeira Liga this season.

However, the Seshego-born player has managed to revive his career at Wits where he has made seven appearances across all competitions for the team.

Meanwhile, Wits have agreed to sell their PSL status to GladAfrican Champipnshop side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

Once the deal is approved by the PSL, Wits will locate to the Limpopo Province and the club will be renamed Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila ahead of the 2020/21 season.
