Stellies add young midfielder to squad

Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the promotion of young midfielder Jayden Adams to the first team ahead of the resumption of the Absa Premiership season.

Adams is an attacking midfielder and comes from the Stellenbosch Academy, the first player to come through that pipeline and into the first team.

He has excelled in the MultiChoice Diski League, netting five goals in 22 appearances, and providing a number of other assists as the fulcrum of the Stellies attack.

Stellenbosch have a thin squad at the best of times, but it will be stretched to the limit for the remainder of the Absa Premiership season, with the side set to play six matches in 20 days to complete their campaign.

The team are first in action against Lamontville Golden Arrows on 15 August, ad will be pushing for a top eight place, though wary of the relegation dogfight behind them as well.
