Horoya AC will battle with Wydad Casablanca in the Caf Champions League Group C match at the Stade Général Lansana Conté in Guinea on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 6pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).

The Guinean giants suffered their maiden defeat in Group C when they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Wydad in a game which was played in Morocco on 6 March.

Therefore, Horoya are placed second on the group standings - five points behind leaders Wydad, who have been dominant in Group C thus far.

Yakhouba Barry, the Horoya striker, stressed the importance of their home match against Wydad after inspiring his side to a 3-0 win over Fello Star in the Guinean Ligue 1 Pro match on 11 March.

“It gave me great pleasure to score a hat-trick. We are starting to do well nationally," Barry told the club's official website.

"It's a very important match that we are preparing [for] in good conditions overall. We have an obligation to take the three points."

Meanwhile, Wydad made it three wins in a row in Group C when they brushed aside Horoya at home having also defeated South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Angola's Petro de Luanda.

As a result, the Moroccan giants are sitting at the top of the group standings with a perfect record of three wins out of three games and they will qualify for the quarterfinals if they defeat Horoya.

Simon Msuva, the Wydad striker, urged his teammates to focus on their clash with Horoya after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Moghreb Tetouan in the Moroccan Botola League game on 11 March.

''We could not achieve the result we were seeking. We move on to something else," Msuvu said after the clash with Tetouan.

"[It is] time to restore our level and focus on the next battle [against Horoya]."

The last time Horoya played hosts to Wydad in a competitive game was in April 2019.
