Al-Hilal Omdurman recorded a narrow 1-0 win over 2019 CAF Confederations Cup Group C rivals Asante Kotoko at Al-Hilal Stadium on Sunday evening.

The result duly moves the Blue Wave level on three points with ZESCO United in the group. Team Ya Ziko beat Zambian counterparts Nkana 2-0 in Ndola at the same time.

Waleed Hamid scored the only goal of the game in Sudan in the 40th minute of the match after being teed up by Nasreldin Abdalla.

The attacker was quickest to react after Abdalla nodded the ball into a dangerous area from a searching cross.

To their credit, the Porcupines improved following the interval, conjuring a few chances of their own, but none good enough to beat Jamal Salim in the Al-Hilal goal as the hosts held on to claim all three points.

Next up for the Sudanese giants is a trip to Kitwe to take on Nkana. Ghana's Asante Kotoko are at home to ZESCO in Kumasi in 10 days time.
