The 2020/21 BetKing Ethiopian Premier League round 5 encounters will kick start in the new year day in Addis Ababa on 1st of January. It is a rest day for the table toppers Saint George. Adama Ketema, Hawassa Ketema and Wolkite Ketema eyes positive outings in this round.

Ethiopian Coffee Vs Sebeta Ketema

Both sides came from defeats in the previous round. The Browns had a dreadful performance in week 4 and they want to bounce back by beating Sebeta Ketema. Sebeta boasts a strong midfield line that can close down the channel for Coffee. If the homers can't afford to lose points as head coach Kassaye Arage looks to build a versatile side. Sebeta coach Abraham Mebratu charges hope for a better outing than they fared against Saint George.

Jimma Aba Jifar Vs Hawassa Ketema

This can be a walk in the park for Hawassa Ketema that impressed many in the round 4 with a victory over Ethiopian Coffee. Jimma Aba Jifar's plight on and off the pitch have a lingering effect on their results. Hawassa's much rejuvenated midfield can create havoc to the already weakened back line of Jimma. Head coach Mulugeta Miherete hopes to get Mesfin Tafese from injury layoffs but still counts on Biruk Beyene to get goals.

Wolaitta Dicha Vs Dire Dawa Ketema

The Sodo based club demonstrated they are not pushovers when they faced Fasil Kenema in the previous round. Dire Dawa had a commanding win in the previous round to register their first win of the season. It will be an evenly matched tie but midfield dominance will decide who takes home the important three points. Successive defeats left Dicha in the bottom half and they want to get points to avoid relegation battle. The Easterners will be welcoming back captain Bereket Samuel and Daniel Demisse from a one game ban.

Bahir Dar Ketema Vs Fasil Kenema

This is arguably the biggest game of the round between the Waves of Tana and the Emperors. The geographical proximity would make this tie the Amhara Derby. The inconsistent Bahir Dar were below par in round 4 defeat while Fasil Kenema fought hard to earn maximum points. The predictable approach of Bahir Dar made them vulnerable to losses. Fasi Kenema will be counting on their free scoring goal machine Mujib Kassim. It will be a very competitive affair between the two sides who are only separated by 3 points.

Sidama Coffee Vs Wolkite Ketema

This has been the worst season opening performance from Sidama Coffee. Wolkite's astounding unbeaten run took them to 8 points in 4 rounds. Sidama coach Zerai Mulu knows his charges need to get points to boost morale. Wolkite coach Degarege Yigzaw's flexible tactical genius is reaping fruits for the visitors and they can cause yet again another upset.

Sidama Coffee may not have the service of Yigezu Bogale and Malian forward Mamadou Sidibe. Wolkite Ketema will be without midfielder Alsari Almehdi, who begins his 4 games ban.

Hadiya Hossana Vs Adama Ketema

After a week-long rest the only side to win all their games Hadiya Hossana returns to action. Adama Ketema notched a respectable draw against Sidama Coffee. Hadiya Hossana head coach Ashenafi Bekele sets his sights on a perfect start by defeating his former employers and he will be having Dawa Hotessa to strengthen his attacking line.

If Adama Ketema can carry on the same mindset as they did in week 4 then we might watch again a very surprising tie. Hadiya will be without Ghanaian goalie Mohammed Muntari who is suspended for four games.
