Malian import Mamadou Sidibe made his return felt with a solid performance as he lifts his new employers Sidama Coffee over Dire Dawa Ketema in week 7 of the BetKing Ethiopian Premier League at the Jimma University Stadium.

Sidama beat Dire Dawa Ketema 3-1 to register their second win of the season.

The Easterners started out the duel in a more favourable position as Muhedin Musa rattled the upright from close range virtually seconds from the kick off. Musa put Dire Dawa ahead in the 4th minute after he left his markers to put past Mesay Ayano.

The Coffee growers were silent for the first 15 minutes but their first assault resulted in the equalizer. Sidibe assisted Habtamu Gezaghen to level matters with a composed finish. The momentum shifted to the home side as Sidibe converted a free kick from 15 metres out.

Following the resumption of the second half, the poor link between the forwards and midfielders was obvious on the visitors’ side. Sidama Coffee missed out many scoring attempts to extend the lead. They had opportunities being squandered by winger Temsgen Bejerond, Dawit Teferra and Gezaghen.

The former Bahir Dar Ketema forward Sidibe completed his brace with an easy finish to hand Sidama Coffee a well-deserved victory.

With maximum points in the bag Sidama Coffee are 9th with 7 points as they are temporarily out of the drop zone. Dire Dawa Ketema are 8th with 7 points after successive defeats.
