Southampton v Arsenal 23 January 2021

Southampton have won just one of their last nine meetings with Arsenal in all competitions (D3 L5), a 3-2 league victory in December 2018.

Arsenal have been victorious in all four of their previous FA Cup ties against Southampton, going on to win the trophy on the last three occasions they’ve beaten Saints (1979, 2003, 2017).

Southampton have won just three of their last 17 FA Cup matches against Premier League opponents, beating Blackpool in 2010-11, and Watford and West Brom en route to the semifinal in 2017-18.

Arsenal have won 11 of their last 12 FA Cup away games, losing the other at Nottingham Forest in January 2018.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored in all four of his appearances in the FA Cup, netting six goals in total in the competition. The last Gunners player to score in five consecutive FA Cup appearances was Marc Overmars between May 1998 and February 1999.

Barnsley v Norwich City 23 January 2021

Barnsley have won just one of their last 16 meetings with Norwich in all competitions (D4 L11), losing 0-1 at Carrow Road in the Championship earlier this month.

Norwich have won two of their three FA Cup ties against Barnsley, with this the first such encounter between the sides since a 1-0 win for the Canaries in January 1992.

Barnsley are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 2012-13, with the Tykes losing against Portsmouth at this stage of the competition last season.

Norwich are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1990-91/1991-92.

Cauley Woodrow has scored five goals in his five FA Cup appearances for Barnsley, netting a penalty against Tranmere in their 2-0 victory in the last round.

Bournemouth v Crawley Town 23 January 2021

The home side have won both previous meetings between Bournemouth and Crawley, with these games taking place in the 2012-13 League One campaign. The Cherries won 3-0 when hosting.

Crawley have won each of their last three FA Cup ties against Championship opponents, most recently beating Hull City in January 2012.

Bournemouth have progressed from six of their last eight FA Cup ties against sides from a lower division. The Cherries are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 2015-16.

Crawley are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the third time in their history, previously doing so in 2010-11 and 2011-12. They’ve already eliminated two sides from a higher division than them so far this term.

Josh King has been involved in seven goals in his last four FA Cup appearances (6 goals, 1 assist), scoring twice and assisting another in Bournemouth’s 4-1 win in the third round.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Blackpool 23 January 2021

This will be the first meeting between Brighton and Blackpool since January 2015, with the Tangerines winning 1-0 in a Championship fixture.

Brighton have won just one of their last five home meetings with Blackpool (D3 L1). This is the first ever meeting between the sides in a domestic cup competition.

Brighton have progressed from 13 of their last 15 FA Cup ties against sides from a lower division, though they were knocked out by a Championship side last season (Sheffield Wednesday).

Blackpool eliminated Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in the third round, having lost their previous 11 FA Cup ties against top-flight sides.

Brighton’s Solly March has scored in his last two FA Cup appearances, having netted in just one of his previous 12 in the competition.

Millwall v Bristol City 23 January 2021

Millwall have lost just one of their last nine meetings with Bristol City in all competitions (W4 D4), going down 1-2 at home in April 2019.

Bristol City won their only previous FA Cup meeting with Millwall, winning 1-0 at home in November 1997.

Millwall lost at home to Sheffield United at this stage of the FA Cup last season – the Lions haven’t lost consecutive home games in the competition since a run of three between January 1946 and January 1948.

Bristol City have reached the fifth round of the FA Cup in just one of the last 19 campaigns, doing so in 2018-19 before being eliminated by Wolves.

Millwall’s Kenneth Zohore has three goals and one assist in his last four FA Cup appearances, averaging a goal involvement every 48 minutes across these games.

Sheffield United v Plymouth Argyle 23 January 2021

Sheffield United have won five of their last six meetings with Plymouth in all competitions (D1), with this the first game between the sides since a 3-0 win for the Blades in the 2014-15 FA Cup.

Plymouth have won just two of their 51 FA Cup meetings with top-flight opponents (D11 L38) and are winless in 14 since beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in February 1984.

Sheffield United have won 15 of their last 16 FA Cup ties against sides from a lower division, losing the other against non-league Barnet in January 2019.

Plymouth are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 2006-07, though this is just their second appearance in the fourth round since then (also 2007-08).

Plymouth’s Luke Jephcott has been involved in a goal in each round of the FA Cup so far this season, scoring in the first and second rounds and providing an assist in the third.

Swansea City v Nottingham Forest 23 January 2021

Swansea beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in the Championship this season, but haven’t won back-to-back games against them in all competitions since August 1953.

This is just the second FA Cup meeting between Swansea and Nottingham Forest, with the Swans winning the other 2-1 in January 1929.

Swansea have won five of their last seven home games in the FA Cup, though they did lose their last such match against Manchester City in March 2019.

Nottingham Forest have reached the FA Cup fifth round in just one of the last 15 campaigns, doing so in 2013-14 before being eliminated by Sheffield United.

Lyle Taylor has scored seven goals in his last five FA Cup appearances, netting the winner for Nottingham Forest in their third round match this season against Cardiff.

West Ham United v Doncaster Rovers 23 January 2021

West Ham are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Doncaster (W2 D3), with all of these taking place in the second tier between March 1957 and March 2012.

Doncaster have won just one of their last 16 FA Cup games against top-flight opponents (D4 L11), beating QPR 1-0 in the third round in 1984-85.

West Ham have alternated between winning (4) and losing (3) their last seven FA Cup ties against sides from a lower division, beating non-league Stockport in their last such game.

Doncaster are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the second time in three seasons, having not previously reached that stage since the 1955-56 campaign.

Doncaster have won their last three away games in the FA Cup, their longest ever winning run on the road in the competition.

Cheltenham Town v Manchester City 23 January 2021

This will be the first ever competitive meeting between Cheltenham and Manchester City. The Robins have lost all eight of their League Cup/FA Cup meetings with Premier League opponents.

Since losing against Wigan 0-1 in February 2018, Man City have won their last seven FA Cup games against sides from a lower division by an aggregate score of 26-4.

Cheltenham are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for just the second time in their history, previously doing so in the 2001-02 campaign.

Man City have reached the fifth round of the FA Cup in each of the last five campaigns, last losing at this stage of the competition against Middlesbrough in 2015.

Man City’s Phil Foden has been involved in eight goals in his eight FA Cup appearances, averaging a goal or assist every 64 minutes in the competition.
