SuperSport United lost 1-0 to Marumo Gallants in their Betway Premiership clash at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Friday evening.

The result sees Matsatsantsa’s unbeaten run in the league come to an end as they were unable to capitalise on their chances in this match.

Edgar Manaka opened the scoring for Marumo Gallants in the 12th minute from the penalty spot.

Thakasani Mbanjwa tried to make the save for SuperSport but it was not enough to keep the ball from smashing into the back of the net.

The first half saw both sides equally share the possession, however it was Gavin Hunt’s charges who created more attacking opportunities.

However, they didn’t capitalise on these and went into the halftime break a goal behind.

The second half saw Bradley Grobler continuously get opportunities to cause a threat, however Matsatsantsa’s hopes did not come to fruition.

Terrence Dzvukamanja came close to equalising in the dying minutes of the game but his effort went slightly wide, when it surely looked as though he had found SuperSport’s breakthrough.

Dan Malesela’s men were well organised and made sure to make the most of the chances they had.

They also retained their shape throughout the match and avoided conceding any goals.

Siwelele Sa Marumo walked away with all three points in this away encounter, taking them all the way up to 12th position in the Betway Premiership standings.

Daniel Msendami was named man of the match.
