The Fifa International window may be open, but there will still be three MTN Super League matches played on Saturday as the Football Association of Zambia look to keep the backlog of matches manageable.

With Red Arrows, Kabwe Warriors and ZANACO all involved in CAF club competition action this season, it means they are as many as two or even three games behind the rest of the league.

It means last year’s runners-up Zanaco will travel to Nkana FC at the weekend, will in search of their first win of the season having taken two points from a possible 12 so far this campaign.

They have at least stopped the rot with two draws having opened the season with a pair of defeats.

Nkana have been a little inconsistent with two wins, two defeats and a draw from their five matches, so will be desperate for a good away result in this one.

Both matches between these sides last season ended 1-1, and their record in the previous 23 league meetings is also even – eight wins each and seven draws. That record does turn in favour of Zanaco in their home games as they lead the head-to-head 4-2 with five draws.

Red Arrows will tackle newly-promoted Kansanshi Dynamos, a side who have only played three games so far this season, with a win, a draw and a defeat to date.

Arrows have also been playing catch-up and picked up their first win of the season last time out. The sides met previously in the 2019-20 season and each picked up a home win.

This will be Dynamos’ second away trip of the season, having drawn 0-0 at Chambishi in their only previous game on the road.

The last match on Saturday will see Indeni take on Kabwe Warriors, who claimed their maiden league success at the weekend having suffered three straight defeats at the beginning of the campaign.

Indeni have been solid enough with just one defeat in five, though they have just a single home win in six dating back to last season, and none yet this campaign.

That being said, their previous two home games were against champions Zesco United and Nkana, no easy fixtures.

Warriors beat Indeni 3-2 at home last season, but the previous three games prior to that were all draws.
