Former Ajax Cape Town Multichoice Diski Challenge striker Lassina Traore is making waves overseas after bursting into the scene this season with Ajax Amsterdam.

On Wednesday the 19-year-old Burkinabe earned his second start of the season with the first-team and managed to find the back of the net twice, with one assist when Ajax thrashed Spakenburg 7-0 in the KNVB Cup at Amsterdam Arena.

Traore made his senior international debut at the tender age of 16, before spending two years in Cape Town where he developed further in the Diski Challenge playing for Ajax.

He moved to the Netherlands after turning 18 in 2018 and since then he has been making steady progress with the Eredivisie giants.

In one of his famous games in the Multichoice Diski Challenge, Traore scored four goals when his side thumped Kaizer Chiefs 5-1 at Dobsonville Stadium.

Since moving to Ajax, Traore has scored three goals for the senior side and found the back of the net 13 times in 17 matches for Jong Ajax.

He scored his first senior goal in December when Ajax demolished ADO Den Haag 6-1 in the Eredivisie.

Traore also featured in the Uefa Champions League group stages with the senior team.
