Brighton v Nottingham Forest

Brighton have won their last two home league games against Nottingham Forest, with this their first such meeting since August 2016 (3-0).

This is the ninth top-flight meeting between Brighton and Nottingham Forest, and first since January 1983. After losing their first two, Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in the last six (W5 D1).

Brighton are winless in their last eight midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Premier League games (D3 L5) since beating Manchester City 3-2 in May 2021. The Seagulls have lost each of their last four such games by an aggregate score of 9-1.

Crystal Palace v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Crystal Palace have won their last three Premier League games against Wolves, their longest-ever winning run against them in league competition.

Wolves have lost their last two away league games against Crystal Palace, as many as they had in their previous 11 visits to Selhurst Park to face the Eagles (W5 D4).

Crystal Palace have won just one of their last nine home midweek (Tues, Weds, Thurs) Premier League games (D3 L5), beating Norwich City 3-0 in December last season.

Bournemouth v Southampton

Wednesday, 19 October

Bournemouth have won just two of their 10 Premier League games against Southampton (D4 L4), winning 2-0 at home in March 2016 and 3-1 away in September 2019.

After losing their first Premier League away game against Bournemouth 2-0 in March 2016, Southampton are unbeaten in their last four visits to the Vitality Stadium (W2 D2).

Of the 12 clubs to have played 100+ Premier League games against promoted sides, Southampton have the lowest win rate (43 per cent), winning 58 of their 134 meetings (D33 L43).

Brentford v Chelsea

Brentford are looking to win back-to-back league games against Chelsea for the first time since February 1939, following their 4-1 win at Stamford Bridge in April.

The away side won all three meetings between Brentford and Chelsea in all competitions last season, with the Blues picking up two victories at the Brentford Community Stadium (1-0 league, 2-0 League Cup).

Brentford haven’t won any of their six midweek (Tues, Weds, Thurs) Premier League games (D1 L5), with their 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace this season their only point in such fixtures.

Liverpool v West Ham United

Liverpool have lost just one of their last 49 home league games against West Ham (W36 D12), going down 3-0 in August 2015 under Brendan Rodgers.

West Ham have won one of their last 12 Premier League games against Liverpool (D2 L9), winning 3-2 at home last season as one of just two sides to beat the Reds in the league.

Liverpool have won 11 of their last 12 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Premier League games, including the last seven in a row by an aggregate score of 20-3. Their only defeat in this run was at Leicester in December last season.

Newcastle United v Everton

Newcastle have won three of their last four Premier League games against Everton (L1), as many as they had in their previous 17. However, they did lose the last such meeting 1-0 in March.

After a run of eight wins in nine Premier League games against Newcastle between 2013 and 2018, Everton have won just two of their subsequent eight against the Magpies (D2 L4).

Newcastle have won two of their last three Premier League games on a Wednesday (L1), having won just one of their previous 24 such fixtures beforehand (D5 L18).

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United have won their last three Premier League games against Spurs, last winning more consecutively against them between April 2009 and October 2010 (4).

Tottenham have lost more Premier League games against Man Utd than they have vs any other opponent (38), while only against Chelsea (110) have they shipped more goals than against the Red Devils (104).

Manchester United have won more Premier League games on a Wednesday than any other side (72), while they also have the highest win rate of all sides to play more than twice on this day in the competition (61.5 per cent).

Fulham v Aston Villa

Fulham lost 3-0 in their last home league game against Aston Villa in September 2020 – they’ve never lost consecutive home league games against the Villans before.

Aston Villa won home and away Premier League games against Fulham the last time the sides met in 2020-21 – they last won three in a row against the Cottagers in October 2004.

Aston Villa have won just two of their last nine Premier League games against promoted sides (D3 L4), with both of those victories coming against Norwich last season.

Leicester City v Leeds United

None of Leicester’s 10 Premier League home games against Leeds have been drawn, with the Foxes winning six and losing four.

Leeds have kept just one clean sheet in their last 16 Premier League games against Leicester, a 2-0 away win in March 2002.

Following their promotion back to the Premier League in 2020, Leeds won six of their first seven midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league games (L1), scoring 19 goals, conceding five and keeping four clean sheets. Since then, they’re winless in six such games (D2 L4), scoring four goals and conceding 23.
