This weekend’s matchday will bring ultimate excitement to fans all around the world and the perfect football games to LaLiga enthusiasts.

Matchday 25 of the 2020-21 LaLiga Santander season is set to be a momentous one as the top six sides in the log standings face off against each other – as usual, all matches begin on Friday evening and conclude on Monday night.

Three top-tier matches to look out for this weekend include Sevilla FC vs FC Barcelona on Saturday, 17:15 CAT, Atlético de Madrid travel to Villarreal CF (Sunday, at 22:00 CAT), lastly Real Madrid will host Real Sociedad on Monday night, at 22:00 CAT.

TOP SIX TEAMS FACE-OFF

The first game not to be missed will be on Saturday as FC Barcelona travel to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán to face fourth-placed Sevilla FC.

The Sevillistas are only two points behind Barça and will surely aim to close that gap and surpass the mighty side.

Sevilla is in an excellent run of form as they have won their past six matches in the league and haven’t conceded a single goal in their past five fixtures, in contrast to Barcelona who have only won two games in their last five games in all competitions.

On Sunday, we will witness a match between two teams desperate to return to winning ways. Villarreal will host Atlético Madrid in one of this weekend’s heavyweight bouts which will see both sides aiming for nothing less than three points.

While Villarreal are winless in their past six league matches. Atleti, have only won one of their past four games. Which tactician will win this one? Will Unai Emery’s European experience aid his side or will Diego Simeone’s LaLiga prowess come out tops?

The final game of matchday 25 between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad is one not to be missed by fans, foes or neutrals.

Although they played out a 0-0 draw when they met in the Basque Country earlier in the season, their previous games have always been high-scoring matches.

Currently, Sociedad are in fifth place, while Madrid is in second place with a massive nine-point gap between them.

Another big talking point is both team’s ammunition in the front-line – both Karim Benzema and Alexander Isak have scored 12 goals for the clubs and both strikers are amongst the league’s top goal scorers. Can Isak get another hattrick? Can Benzema score in a third match in a row?
