FC Porto’s 2-1 victory over Juventus in the first leg was their first ever win over them in European competition in the sixth attempt (D1 L4). Porto have lost their last five away UEFA Champions League games in Italy, since a 3-2 win over AC Milan in 1996.

Juventus have only lost two of their last 12 home games in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League (W8 D2), however those two defeats have come within the previous three seasons (0-3 v Real Madrid in 2017-18 and 1-2 v Ajax in 2018-19).

FC Porto are winless in their previous 13 away games in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages (D4 L9), with their last such victory coming back in the 2003-04 season in a victory away at Deportivo de La Coruña in the semi-final (1-0).

Juventus have been eliminated from five of their last six UEFA Champions League knockout ties when losing the first leg, with the exception being the 2018-19 last 16 tie against Atlético de Madrid (0-2 first leg, 3-0 second leg).

FC Porto have been eliminated in each of their last three UEFA Champions League knockout ties after winning the first leg, going out versus Arsenal in 2009-10, Málaga in 2012-13 and Bayern Munich in 2014-15.

FC Porto are looking to keep three consecutive away UEFA Champions League clean sheets for the first time since November 2012: however, they have only recorded two shutouts in 19 away knockout matches, a 1-0 win at Deportivo de La Coruña in May 2004 and 0-0 draw at Liverpool in March 2018.

In the first leg, Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo managed just one shot, his fewest in a UEFA Champions League knockout match since the second leg of the 2010-11 semi-final for Real Madrid against Barcelona, when he didn’t have a single attempt.Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 10 goals in 10 home games for Juventus in the UEFA Champions League – since he joined the club ahead of the 2018-19 season, only Lionel Messi (14) has netted more goals in home games in the competition.

Since the start of the 2018-19 campaign, Moussa Marega has scored eight UEFA Champions League goals for FC Porto – twice as many as any other player. The last player to score in both legs of a knockout UEFA Champions League tie against Juventus was Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2017-18 quarter-final with Real Madrid.
