John Stones returns to the Manchester City team for the first leg of their Champions League semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, but Raheem Sterling is among the players left on the bench by coach Pep Guardiola.

Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are all among the substitutes for the away side at the Parc des Princes, with Bernardo Silva joining Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden in their attack.

Stones replaces Aymeric Laporte in central defence after being suspended for City's 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the English League Cup final at the weekend, as Laporte scored a late winning goal.

Kevin De Bruyne captains the City side while Marquinhos has been passed fit to start for PSG and wears the captain's armband.

The Brazilian defender came off injured in the first leg of PSG's quarterfinal win over Bayern Munich.

Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria all start in attack for last season's beaten finalists.
