Zesco United have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the Zambia Super League after a 2-1 away win at Kabwe Warriors on Sunday.

Zesco have now played the same amount of games as second-placed Zanaco, but have managed to put some daylight between themselves and the chasing the pack as they seek to regain the Super League title they last won in 2019.

All the goals in their victory over Warriors came in the first half as Enock Sakala put them in front, only for Satly Phiri to equalise for the home side.

The decisive moment in the game came five minutes before the break as Adrian Chama put Zesco back in front from the penalty spot.

Lusaka Dynamos took advantage of a slip-up by Forest Rangers to move into third as they claimed a 2-0 win at struggling Lumwana Radiants.

Marvin Jere netted the goals, both early and late in the game, to seal the points and keep Dynamos in the hunt, though they are seven points behind Zesco having also played a game more.

Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Young Green Eagles and had to come from behind as Damiano Kola gave the visitors the lead.

Shadreck Malambo netted for Rangers just past the hour mark, but they could not go on to grab and winner and will look at the result as very much two points dropped.

Lowly Indeni made it back-to-back wins with a surprise 2-0 victory at Prison Leopards as Clement Mulenga bagged both goals inside the opening half-hour.

Finally on Sunday, Red Arrows recent good run was halted as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Power Dynamos as Mukuka Mulenga got the only goal of the game.
