Misery at the Masters
The Masters is arguably the toughest Major of the year and any mistakes will be punished.
Conditions at Augusta can take its toll on even the best players on the planet and here are a few examples of just how wrong it can go:
RORY MCILROY - 2011
Well on his way to a maiden Masters title, a young Rory McIlroy went on to throw it all away on the back-nine.
TIGER WOODS - 2013
Even if you’re the best player to ever play the game you can fall victim to the pressure of Augusta and forget how exactly the game works as Tiger Woods displayed in 2013.
JORDAN SPIETH - 2016
Jordan Spieth topped the leaderboard for a record seven consecutive days and was on his way to picking up back-to-back titles at Augusta but disaster struck at the 12th and his dreams were drowned out.
SERGIO GARCIA - 2018
You would be forgive for forgetting that Sergio Garcia was the defending champion in 2018 as his title defence died before it even really began with these moments of madness.
‘FOUR’ PAS - 2019
They say you need luck to win golf tournaments and while fortune deserted four of the last six player last year it did so to the benefit of Tiger Woods.
