Sunderland sink Burnley to take top spot in Championship

Sunderland moved to the top of the Championship with a 1-0 win against promotion contenders Burnley on Saturday.

Romaine Mundle's superb 26th-minute finish made it three successive victories for new Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris.

Looking to bounce back from last season's relegation, Burnley's 100 per cent record in the second tier this term came to an end in front of more than 40 000 fans at the Stadium of Light.
