The 27-year-old forward joins Amakhosi on a one-year loan deal and follows in the footsteps of his father, Kaizer Chiefs legend Patrick Mayo. He now becomes part of an exclusive group of players whose fathers once donned the iconic gold & black jersey.

This distinguished list includes Chairman Kaizer Motaung and Kaizer Motaung Jr.; Eliakim Khumalo and Doctor Khumalo; Joseph Mkhonza and Siphiwe Mkhonza; Fabian McCarthy and Aden McCarthy; as well as Ace Nkomo and Morgan Gould.

Mayo has represented South Africa at both under-17 and under-20 levels and has earned seven caps for the senior national team, Bafana Bafana.

“It’s no secret that we wanted to bring Khanyisa to Naturena before his move to Algeria,” said Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr.

“He has a proven track record in the league, and we believe he will add significant value to the squad this season - both domestically and on the continent. He joins a select group of athletes who’ve made their families proud by following in their footsteps. We are truly happy to have him here and wish him all the best.”
