Super Giants add Agar to their squad for SA20 playoffs
Ahead of an exciting week of playoff cricket in the Betway SA20, Durban's Super Giants have added Australian allrounder Ashton Agar to their squad as a replacement for the departing Marcus Stoinis.
Stoinis played an important role for the Super Giants in his time with the team. His replacement Agar will offer something slightly different as the Super Giants look to topple the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in Qualifier One.
Agar has played 47 T20 Internationals and represented the Perth Scorchers in the recently concluded Big Bash where he helped the Scorchers into the playoffs before they were beaten by the Sydney Sixers.

Keshav Maharaj and his team have been the inform side through the majority of the group stage and finished in second place behind last year's champions to set up another showdown this week.
Interestingly for both the Super Giants and the Sunrisers, they both lost their home group fixture against each other, so the teams are well matched going into Tuesday's game.
There have been a number of DSG batters and bowlers among the top in the competition so far and the likes of Matthew Breetzke and Heinrich Klaasen have dominated with the bat.

Breetzke is currently third on the run scorers list with Klaasen just behind him in fourth. Klaasen's ten innings in the competition have seen him striking at over 200 runs per 100 deliveries.
Jon-Jon Smuts has also been in great form with the bat and has also contributed well with the ball through the tournament.
From a bowling perspective, spinner Noor Ahmad has been the stand-out for DSG with twelve wickets from his six matches in the competition. Ahmad currently boats the best average and strike rate for bowlers that have bowled more than 20 overs in the tournament.
Captain Maharaj along with their battery of seamers have all added important value throughout and contributed to their seven wins during the group phase.

This Tuesday's match at Newlands offers both teams the chance to qualify straight through to the final. The Sunrisers were the 2023 champions and are in a good run of form coming into Tuesday's match.
The benefit of finishing in the top two is that whoever loses on Tuesday will have a second opportunity to make the final.
The loser of Tuesday's Qualifier will play the winner of the Eliminator, that will see the Paarl Royals and the Joburg Super Kings fight it out for another chance to stay alive in the tournament.
