Talor Gooch agrees to extension; equity stake TBD

Newly appointed Smash GC captain Talor Gooch agreed to a three-year extension with LIV Golf, Front Office Sports reported.
Gooch's initial four-year contract expired after the 2025 season. He has won four individual titles and earned more than $50 million since joining the circuit.
Gooch, 34, was elevated to captain following Brooks Koepka's departure last week. Still being determined is what will happen to Koepka's 25 per cent equity stake in Smash GC. The league's original structure gave its player-captains 25 per cent ownership in their teams, with LIV Golf owning the rest.

"I am incredibly honoured and excited to officially take on the captaincy role for the 2026 season," Gooch said in a statement last week. "I'm excited and ready to embrace this new leadership and career challenge."

Smash GC finished fourth out of 13 teams in the 2025 standings to earn a $4 million team bonus.
With Koepka's exit, Gooch's team has a vacancy to fill alongside teammates Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell before the 2026 season begins in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia February 4.
