The road to joining SuperSport International is not as easy as many would think. The SuperSport MVP Talent Search contenders can attest to this.

The challenges that the contenders have undergone over the last weeks are proof that this is a gruelling a journey.

Following last week’s first elimination round, the MVPs knew that they had to bring in their A-game this week as no one was safe. They all looked edgy when they took to the SuperSport Arena for this week’s challenges. Oh man, they did look dapper in their formal wear.

ANDREWS IN THE MASTER CLASS

This week a familiar face, Neil Andrews, took the contestants through their paces in the master class as a mentor. He also played his part as the resident judge. Neil always seems to bring twists and surprises to the competition, and our MVPs had to deal with what anchors have to deal with when the camera comes on during a live television show.

All 15 competitors took part in both challenges, but first, they had a sit down with Neil to learn about the team work in sports broadcasting. As an anchor you will be working with the director, producer, floor manager, and the production assistant and our MVPs got to learn how to work in teams.

One thing that they still can’t seem to work well with is the director in their ear. Oh man, it was almost tragic to watch. There really was a mixed bag of performances in the first challenge, some impressed while others sounded scared on that stage.

MABENA ON THE JUDGE'S SEAT

Motshidisi Mohono is back in her seat and they are joined by rapper and television presenter, Nomuzi Mabena. Being part of the judging panel is so befitting for Moozlie as her own career in television started through the MTV Base VJ Search in 2012.

Some of the teams were quite impressive in the second challenge in front of the judges but others were quite rough around the edges. How can you forget to engage a guest on your show? That was an interesting surprise having Lwazi Ziqubu as part of the panel. Another lesson on being able to think on their feet. Others didn’t know the names of the teams that were on their shows, that was disappointing.

The SuperSport MVP Talent Search had over 2500 entries from hopefuls in five provinces on-ground auditions held at five universities and online video submissions. After weeks of challenges and tasks at the SuperSport MVP Talent Search camp 20 hopefuls were cut down to 15 and now, the final 10 remain. Did your faves make it into the last 10?

Who do you think will be crowned as the ultimate SuperSport MVP?
