Status report on DStv Premiership clubs

The transfer window is beginning to hot up and it is likely we will see much more movement in the coming weeks, despite a number of clubs getting their major business done early.

Here is a rundown of where each of the 16 clubs in the DStv Premiership next season stand.

AMAZULU

Position Finished: 7th

Coach: Brandon Truter

Summary:There has been no movement at Usuthu in the last week, though they did much of their business early on.

Summary:City have yet to announce any new signings, with the only real news from camp being that Shane Roberts has been released and Tashreeq Morris is linked with a move to Gauteng.

CHIPPA UNITED

Position Finished: 14th

Coach: Kurt Lentjies

Summary:A quiet week for Chippa, who have already seen some major outgoings but have yet to confirm any new arrivals.

LAMONTVILLE GOLDEN ARROWS

Summary:The major news for Abafana Bes’thende this week is that the co-coaching duo of Vusi Vilakazi & Mabhuti Khenyeza will be staying on into next season. There is no news on Pule Mmodi, who is being chased by a number of clubs.

KAIZER CHIEFS

Position Finished: 5th

Coach: Arthur Zwane

Summary: There was nothing new out of the AmaKhosi camp this week as they returned to pre-season training but it is likely we will see more movement before the season starts.

Summary:Sundowns are expecting new Ethiopian forward Abubeker Nassir in camp this week as he finally links up with the team after they signed him in January but loaned him back to his club Ethiopian Coffee.

Summary:Pirates have sent four players out on loan this week, namely Tshegofatso Mabasa (Sekhukhune United, loan), Nkanyiso Zungu (Richards Bay, loan), Boitumelo Radiopane (Cape Town Spurs, loan), Bongani Sam (Maritzburg United, loan). Expect more departures before the new season starts.

Summary:Sekhukhune have announced a host of new signings this week as they begin to ramp things up under new coach Kaitano Tembo, with plenty more players on trial and hoping to win a place in the squad for next season.
