Euro Wrap: Du Preez stars in Sharks win

Springbok Robert du Preez took advantage of an ill-disciplined Leicester Tigers outfit to help the Sale Sharks to a dominant 36-3 win in their Premiership Rugby clash.

The former Sharks fly-half kicked 11 points in the match, including converting fellow Sharks import Coenie Oosthuizen's try. The burly Springbok prop crashed over from close range at the end of the opening half.

Staying with Premiership Rugby, Springbok No 8 and former Stormers stalwart Nizaam Carr put the cherry on top of slick chip and chase to score one of Wasps eight tries as they crushed Saracens 60-10 on Friday.

Former Bulls forward Johannes Kirsten scored a try in Exeter Chiefs 57-7 drumming of Northampton Saints, who had World Cup winner Cobus Reinach on the bench. Bath earned a hard fought 19-12 win over Harlequins with Springbok Francios Louw featuring at the back of the scrum for Bath.

Over in the Japanese Top League, Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx scored a second half try to help NTT Communications Shining Arcs edge Honda Heat 14-13 for their third consecutive win.

Toyota Verblitz have South African journeyman Lionel Cronje to thank for their narrow 20-18 victory over Kubota Spears. The former Western Province and Sharks utility back slotted ten points with the boot, including the dramatic 83rd minute penalty that gave Verblitz the win.

Finally, in the Top 14 in France, World Cup winner Cheslin Kolbe was moved back to No 15 for Stade Toulousain's clash against a Montpellier outfit full of South African talent. Stade Toulousain went on to win 25-7 against a side containing, Springboks Handre Pollard, Francios Steyn, Johan Goosen, Jan Serfontein and legendary hooker Bismark du Plessis on the bench.

Finally, World Cup winner Eben Etzebeth's RC Toulonnais played with 14 men for 20 minutes as they went down 12-17 to La Rochelle, who featured former South African U20 captain Wiaan Liebenberg at lock.
