Arsenal ALL fired up for another London derby
Premier League: West Ham v Arsenal

West Ham have lost more Premier League games overall (36) and at home (15) against Arsenal than they have v any other opponent in the competition.

Arsenal have lost just one of their last 16 Premier League away games against West Ham (W10 D5), winning this exact fixture 6-0 last season.

West Ham have lost their last two home London derbies in the Premier League, going down 2-0 against Fulham and 3-0 against Chelsea. They last lost three in a row in December 2019, while they last did so without scoring in December 2008 – both runs included defeat to Arsenal.

Since the start of 2022-23, Arsenal have lost just two of their 26 London derby matches in the Premier League (W18 D6). One of these was against West Ham, which was the only one of the 26 games in which they’ve failed to score (0-2 in December 2023).

Betway Premiership: Orlando Pirates v Stellenbosch

A full round of weekend action in the Betway Premiership will be headlined by Orlando Pirates looking to keep up their winning run, while Richards Bay and AmaZulu FC will have a crunch derby.

Pirates have been in sensational form throughout the 2024-25 season, and they are currently on a five-game winning streak (and a run of 12 victories from 13 outings) across all competitions after opening their CAF Champions League group stage campaign with a 2-1 away win over Algeria’s CR Belouizdad on Tuesday evening. In the Premiership, they have a full haul of 21 points from seven matches.

The Buccaneers will next test themselves against Stellenbosch FC (who were themselves in CAF action on Wednesday, losing 2-0 in Bamako to Stade Malien) at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Real going ALL out to keep the pressure on Barca

LaLiga: Real Madrid v Getafe

Real Madrid have won 18 of their last 21 games against Getafe in LaLiga (D2 L1), scoring a total of 51 goals (2.4 average per game) and conceding just 10 in return (0.5 per game) and they will hope to continue on that fine form.

On the other hand, Getafe have only collected points in two of their 19 away matches against Real Madrid in LaLiga (W1 D1 L17), with manager Bernd Schuster involved in both of those matches: 1-1 in March 2007 with the German as Getafe coach and 1-0 in February 2008 as manager of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have won their last 15 home matches against Getafe in LaLiga. Only against Racing de Santander (18 between 1952 and 1994) and Barcelona (16 between 1949 and 1964) have they achieved a longer home winning streak in the competition (15 also against Real Oviedo between 1949 and 1990).

Real Madrid have lost just one of their 13 matches in LaLiga 2024/25 (W9 D3) and have won the last two without conceding - they are looking to string together 3+ clean sheets in the competition for the first time in the current league campaign.

ALL eyes on leaders Liverpool against a struggling City
Premier League: Liverpool v Manchester City

Liverpool have won just one of their last nine Premier League games against Manchester City (D5 L3), a 1-0 home victory in October 2022.

Manchester City have won just one of their last 21 Premier League away games against Liverpool (D7 L13), beating them 4-1 in February 2021. They’ve not won at Anfield with fans in attendance since May 2003 (2-1).

The away side has won just six of the 54 Premier League meetings between Liverpool and Manchester City, the lowest per centage of any fixture to be played more than 30 times in the competition (11 per cent).

Manchester City have won five of their last six Premier League games against sides starting the day top of the table (D1). However, their last such defeat was a 3-1 loss against Liverpool at Anfield in November 2019, with the Reds going on to lift the title that season.

Liverpool’s only Premier League defeat so far this season was a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield. They’ve won seven of their eight league games since then (D1), scoring at least twice in seven of those games.

Inter will need to give their ALL against in-form hosts

Serie A: Fiorentina v Inter Milan

Fiorentina face the first true test of their unlikely role in a crowded Serie A title race on Sunday when Inter Milan come to Florence looking to bust a seven-match winning streak.

Raffaele Palladino's side are on a high and level on 28 points with champions Inter, with the two teams among a group of four trailing leaders Napoli by a single point.

Both will know by kick-off whether they can overtake Napoli who are at Torino just before the weekend's big match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

But just being in the mix at this stage of the season is huge for Fiorentina who under new boss Palladino have found a winning formula and, above all, a resilience that was missing with his predecessor Vincenzo Italiano.

Last weekend's 2-0 win at Como came thanks to a grinding performance and more goalkeeping heroics from David de Gea, who has grabbed with both hands his opportunity in Florence after a year as a free agent.
