Dolphins ladies eager to turn the tide on Western Province
The Hollywoodbets Dolphins ladies side will host Western Province in a 50 over and a T20 clash at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium this weekend, looking to overturn their T20 loss at Newlands earlier in the season.
The Dolphins side will be at full-strength for their fixtures this weekend with their Proteas representatives back in the squad which will bolster them for the double-header against the side from Cape Town.
Coach Angelique Taai says that the team are in a good space going into the weekend of cricket at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium.
"Our preparations have been good and we've worked on things that we probably didn't get right in our T20 outing at Newlands," Taai said.
"It was a really close match so we are confident that we can turn it around this weekend.
"Having played them recently we know what to expect but they will also have their Proteas players back so they will be a tough team to beat."
Nonkululeko Mlaba and Nondumiso Shangase will return to the Dolphins squad for the weekend, and Taai believes they will play an important role over the weekend.
"It's great to have players with international experience in the squad and they will add a lot of value to the side.
"With that said the girls that have been with the Dolphins squad have been working really hard and are in a good space.
"Playing at our home ground, Hollywoodbets Kingsmead, is another exciting element to the weekend but it's not foreign for our players.
"Since I've been with the Dolphins we've played a number of matches at Kingsmead and we are thankful for that opportunity," Taai added.
The Hollywoodbets Dolphins play Western Province in a CSA Women’s One-Day Cup on Saturday and then in a CSA Women’s T20 Challenge match on Sunday at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium.
Entrance to the stadium is free and there is parking available inside the stadium.
