Tough battles await Highbury & Kruger United in latest MFC fixture list
As two teams battling to find positive form during the early exchanges of the 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship, first division newbies Highbury and Kruger United are bracing for tough encounters in their upcoming league assignments.
Highbury, who are yet to taste victory this season, go into their next league game sitting in an unfavourable 15th position.
The Eastern Cape outfit will take on Upington City at the Nelson Mandela University Athletics Stadium on Friday, with the latter looking to extend their unbeaten run to four matches in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Then, Kruger United, who suffered a 1-0 loss to Baroka FC last time out, will take on second-placed Milford FC at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
Kruger United recorded a mixed bag of results this season, with one win, one draw and two losses to their name in four matches played this far. Milford on the other hand, are yet to suffer defeat in the 2024/25 campaign but will head into their next league game on the back of two consecutive stalemates against Cape Town Spurs and Pretoria Callies respectively.
Elsewhere, The Urban Warriors will hope to make it two wins on the trot when they face Durban City at the Chatsworth Stadium on Friday evening. The Western Cape outfit moved up to fourth position on the log on Monday, following their 2-1 victory over Hungry Lions at the Athlone Stadium.
