AmaZulu ushers in New Era with Lentjies in bid to climb DDC table

In a strategic move to revive their fortunes in the DStv Diski Challenge, AmaZulu FC has appointed Kurt Lentjies as their new head coach. The team, struggling significantly this season, entered the Christmas break languishing in a disappointing ninth place, having accumulated just 15 points from 12 matches.
Lentjies, whose extensive experience is well-documented, is expected to provide the leadership and tactical acumen necessary for AmaZulu to not only ascend the standings but potentially contend for the title should the leading teams falter. As the second half of the season approaches, all eyes will be on Lentjies and his ability to galvanise a team that desperately seeks to reclaim its competitive edge.

In a strategic move ahead of the resumption of the season, AmaZulu Football Club has announced the appointment of the former Chippa United coach to lead the team, with the esteemed Bafana Bafana legend Thabo Mngomeni stepping in as his assistant. Their first test on Saturday will see them face off against Roscoe Krieling of the league leaders, Orlando Pirates.
Pedro Dias, the Director of Football at AmaZulu, expressed his optimism regarding the new appointments, highlighting the wealth of experience and expertise that both coaches bring to the club. As the team looks to navigate the challenges of the season ahead, the leadership duo is expected to galvanise the players and amplify their competitive spirit on the field.
"We are pleased with the appointment of all four members of the technical team. We are confident that their expertise, along with that of their colleagues who form part of the system, will greatly benefit our young team, as well as support our vision of funnelling exciting talent into the first team in the long term," said Dias.
