DAY 3: Senokwane half-century puts Knights in control
Lesego Senokwane scored a brilliant half-century as he put the Knights in better control in the post-lunch session of their CSA 4-Day Series match against WSB Western Province at WSB Newlands on Sunday. The visitors were on 179/2 at tea.
The Knights trail Western Province by 23 runs runs with eight wickets in hand. Western Province won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 202. The visitors had Isaac Dikgale (34*) and Patrick Botha (1*) at the crease at interval.
Senokwane is enjoying a good run the four-day series. He came into the match with two centuries and a half-century to his name. He added to that tally with his second half-century of the season. This is his eighth first-class half-century. He was dismissed for a well-played 74 off 172.
Senokwane shared a brilliant 105-run second-wicket stand with Isaac Dikgale. The partnership carried on from his opening partnership with Jacques Snyman in the morning session. Snyman and Senokwane got the Knights going with a 69-run opening stand.
After Senokwane's dismissal, Dikgale joined hands with Patrick Botha for an unbeaten five-run third-wicket partnership.
Jody Lawrence was the only Western Province bowler who took a wicket in the session. He dismissed Senokwane. He had a single wicket for 30 runs in eight overs. The only other wicket-taker in the innings was Kyle Simmonds with one wicket for 30 runs in 12 overs.
