All eyes will be on African giants Senegal and Ghana on Monday as they look to record their maiden wins in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Senegal's Lions of Teranga started their qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso on Friday as Ousseni Bouda's late equaliser cancelled out Sadio Mane's opening goal in a group L match played in Dakar.

"We have a new match coming up on Monday, we recover and go back to war but we must rectify, find solidarity, remobilise the boys," Senegal coach Aliou Cisse said ahead of Senegal's clash with Burundi in Malawi.

Ghana, on the other hand, will be away to Niger in Morocco where the Black Stars will be keen to bounce back to winning ways after losing 1-0 to Angola in Kumasi on Thursday - conceding in stoppage time in a group F clash.

Meanwhile, Morocco will be determined to make it back-to-back wins in the qualifiers when they take on Lesotho in Agadir, having started their group B campaign with an impressive 4-1 victory over Gabon at home on Friday.

While DR Congo will also be targeting a second successive victory when they square off with Ethiopia in Tanzania with the Leopards having secured a 1-0 victory over Guinea in Friday's group H match.

DR Congo's neighbours, Uganda will be hoping to secure their maiden win in group K when they host Congo-Brazzaville in Kampala, having drawn 2-2 with South Africa in Friday's entertaining match.

“It’s not always the best teams who win, but I’m proud of that second half, my players, showing football in the second half," Uganda coach Paul Put said.

"Now that point in South Africa, we can only celebrate if we get a good result at home against Congo, so let’s hope we can perform well, it’s a long journey to go.”
