Day 2: Knights mirror Titans at lunch on day two of CSA 4-Day match
The Knights first innings almost mirrored the Momentum Multiply Titans, as the visitors reached lunch on day two of their CSA 4-Day Series match on 109/3 at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Wednesday.
They still trail the Titans first innings of 307 all out by 198-runs and Dian Forrester (21no) and Patrick Botha (10no) will be eager to make a dent into that lead during the days second session.
On day one the Titans reached lunch on 92/3, before kicking onto a score in excess of 300, and the Knights will be eager to do the same over the rest of the day.
Having bowled the Titans all out at the end of day one, and reached the close of play by facing just one over, without scoring or losing a wicket, they started day two from scratch.
Opener Isaac Dikgale (5) was first to fall in the third over of the day, caught by Jhedli van Briesies off the bowling of Matthew Boast, with the score 9/1.
Lesego Senokwane (34) and Aubrey Swanepoel (28) combined for a decent 53-run second wicket stand, with Swanepoel the aggressor as he struck six boundaries in his 27-ball stay, before he edged Merrick Brett to keeper Rivaldo Moonsamy, to leave them on 62/2.
Senokwane and Forrester could only add 24 to the total, before Boast bowled the opener, leaving Forrester and Botha to take their side to lunch.
