Over 70% of #Comrades2024 entries sold

More than 70 per cent of the 23 000-entry cap for next year’s (2024) 97th Comrades Marathon has been taken up in the first week of the entry process, which opened last Tuesday.

Runners are urged to get their entry in if they have not yet entered. South African entries stand at over 14800 while more than 1600 entrants from 67 nations are already signed up for the 49th Up Run.

The entry period closes on 11 December 2023 as soon as the entry cap of 23 000 entries has been reached. Prospective entrants are encouraged to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment.

Entry fees remain the same as that of the 2023 Race and are as follows:

  • South Africa 2024 Entrants - R1 200
  • Rest of Africa 2024 Entrants - R2 000
  • International 2024 Entrants - R4 500

Entry is free to all runners who have completed the Comrades Marathon 25 times or more.

Runners can enter online via the Comrades Marathon website: www.comrades.com or the Comrades App.

The 97th Comrades Marathon will be the 49th Up Run on Sunday, 9 June, 2024, starting at the Durban City Hall at 05h30 and ending 12 hours later at the HollywoodBets Scottsville Racecourse, covering a distance of approximately 87km.
