Shakur Stevenson forfeited his WBC and WBO junior lightweight belts when he went in against Robson Conceição, after failing to make the weight and then went on to win a one-sided 12 round points decision at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey on Friday night.
The scores were 118-108, and 117-109 twice.
Stevenson failed to make the junior lightweight limit of 130 pounds and was stripped of both belts and only Conceição 17-2; 8 could claim the belts if he won.
Stevenson 19-0; 9 was in control throughout and dominated most of the exchanges, scoring a knockdown in the fourth round.
He was deducted a point in the ninth round for throwing Conceição to the canvas.
On the undercard lightweight and US Olympic silver medallist Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis 6-0; 5 was most impressive in winning on a fifth stoppage against Omar Tienda 25-6; 18.
Davis scored a knockdown in the fifth round and then smashed Tienda to defeat.
